Tips for Downloading

You can now download your free CPP Software System upgrade and related product components.

After you have completed the download of the Scoring and Reporting program for Version 5.1 and/or the OnScreen program and have installed the system, you must call Customer Relations for authorization and to purchase administrations. A Customer Relations Advisor can assist you Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM-4:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. Call toll free at (800) 624-1765.

Important: Before installing the CPP Software System, you must have the Internet Explorer (IE) 4.0 or higher browser on your system. (The software relies on certain IE files.) However, you do not have to use IE to navigate the web.

You can download this browser free from the Microsoft® Web site. All you need to download for CPP Software System Version 5.1 to work is the browser. If you download other items, your system may be altered.

If you are NOT a current software user, visit our products section to find out more about the CPP Software System and to place an order quickly and efficiently online before downloading. There is an initial system fee for first-time purchasers. All upgrades are free.

Note that download times vary considerably with the speed of your modem and the amount of traffic.

We recommend that you have at least a 56K modem, especially to download the larger programs such as CPP Software Scoring and Reporting and CPP OnScreen.

Estimates of download time using a 56K modem are listed below in the download options section.

If you choose to download with a slower modem, expect download time to be lengthy. For example, the CPP Software Scoring and Reporting could take as long as 2 hours if downloaded via a 28.8 modem.

If you are downloading via a direct connection, such as a T1 line, the download time for the CPP Software Scoring and Reporting program could be as brief as 8 minutes.

• Back up any important information before downloading.
• If the download time is going to be lengthy, plan to download at night or on the weekend when Internet traffic is generally lighter.
• Plan to download at a time when you are performing tasks that do not involve your computer.
• If you share a phone line with others, be sure that no one else needs that phone line during the time you plan to download.

Note:

If you want your clients to take inventories onscreen at a computer rather than by using paper item booklets, download both CPP Software Scoring and Reporting and the OnSreen programs.

If you want your clients to take inventories via the Internet, you will need the Scoring and Reporting program and the CPP Web Administration Site.

BE SURE TO WRITE DOWN THE SERIAL NUMBER THAT YOU WILL BE GIVEN. YOU WILL NEED THIS NUMBER TO INSTALL YOUR SOFTWARE.

Important:

If you are planning to use the OnScreen for the California Psychological Inventory^TM test, you must get a password from Customer Relations before installing the onscreen program as this inventory can only be purchased by C-level qualified professionals.
